Won't switching mess up my BGE budget billing?
No. Budget billing is a utility program and it stays. Your utility still bills you, still reads the meter, still restores your power. What changes is one line inside that same bill — the supply rate — and with a fixed twelve-month rate that line stops moving. Budget billing actually works better on a fixed rate, because the number it averages doesn't jump.
If I switch, does my power ever get shut off?
No. Your utility remains responsible for delivering your electricity and restoring it after an outage, regardless of who supplies it. Changing suppliers is a billing change, not a service change. Nobody comes to your house and nothing is installed.
Can I cancel?
Every choice market provides a rescission or cooling-off window after enrollment starts, and the specific length is set by your state's public utility commission — it'll be read to you on the verification recording. After that window, fixed-term contracts may carry an early-termination fee, which is also disclosed on that recording before you agree to anything.
What does this cost me?
Nothing. There's no fee to use PowerRelief and no utility fee to switch suppliers. We're paid by the supplier when a household enrolls. You should know that, because it tells you what our incentive is: they only pay us for enrollments that stick, which is why we screen you out rather than push you through.
